Mike Flysmith is the culmination of a lifelong obsession with fly fishing, fly tying, and figuring out how to make things work better. What started at the vise has grown into original fly patterns, purpose-built tying components, and new ideas designed around one simple philosophy: make what I want to fish with, and make it right.
SIMPLE. FUNCTIONAL. EFFECTIVE.
I’m not interested in making something just because it’s different. Every pattern and component starts with a reason—better movement, easier tying, better durability, or solving something that’s always bothered me at the vise or on the water. Then I build it, fish it, change it, and keep going until I’m happy with it. If it earns a place on my bench, I’ll put my name on it.
